Das Heft »3×3« entsteht als hochschulübergreifendes Projekt zum Medium Buch und ist eine Zusammenarbeit von Studierenden der Kunsthochschule Burg Giebichenstein Halle und der HBK Braunschweig. Der dreisprachige Text »Häuser, Vögel, Reisen« von Gerrit Jan de Rook bildet die Grundlage für diese Arbeit. Der Text thematisiert das Buch als Medium und vergleicht es mit Häusern, Vögeln und Reisen.

(…) Reading books is like travelling. Sometimes you babble on gently as on a river. At other times, you end up in mountain rapids or find yourself in the waterfalls of a South American stream. There may be Siberian cold in a book, or African heat. Sometimes you have the impression that you’re walking through marsh-land: you make hardly any progress. Sometimes you have completely lost the way, you can’t see the forest for the trees. The finest books read like a train journey: various types of landscape pass before your eyes. Occasionally it becomes a bit foggy and you have to go back to find out where you were. (…)
